What if?

What happens if instead of dictating what children have to learn and when, we follow their lead?

What happens if we follow children’s interest and foster them through meaningful and engaging education?

What happens if we harness a child’s God given interests and talents instead of ignoring them?

What happens if we raise a generation of children who follow their dreams no matter how crazy?

What if we change our focus from grades and achievement levels to heart attitudes, a love for learning and to see beauty in the simple?

What happens if we raise a generation of children who see God in all of creation? A generation who knows without a doubt who they are in Christ. A generation who knows who is fighting for them.

What happens if we teach our children how to learn what they want to learn, teach them how to find the information and how to think critically?

What happens if we teach children how to love others, how to seek justice for those who have none and how to care for those in need?

What happens if we teach children how to do what is right, even if they stand on their own?

What happens is we raise children who are confident and resilient, children who know they are loved and worthy, children who stand alone rather than following the crowd, children who stand up for their convictions?

We raise a generation of world changers. We raise a generation of children who have a life-long love for learning. We raise a generation of children who care for others.

Psalm 22: 6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Education is discipleship. It is more than teaching children how to add and read. It is instilling in them morals, values, and inner strength. Our children watch what we do, they learn more from our attitudes and actions then they ever do from what we say.

God created our children for something amazing. A unique, God given and God-designed purpose. He chose you to help them reach that potential. What if we change our view of education to discipleship? How differently would we approach it?
